Lion-Heart

mail from Mr Chu:
word of caution again.
DO NOT copy the question wrongly (implies when you copy the question onto your paper please do it meticulously. any change in words or dropping of words results in a big change of the question nuances. This is a mistake never to commit in examinations which is why I must highlight to you and enforce it right now) If you commit such mistakes, the punishment will be to redo the whole essay.

drafts will be collected on wed.

Essay

‘The environment is suffering.’ Is this true in the world today?
Pollution is a pressing environmental problem. Discuss
‘Technology will bail us out in the event of an environmental crisis.’ Examine the validity of this view.

Key instructions

Come up with a draft

Do up the question analysis properly (obviously in the way you think/hope it will help you in the exam)
(For the one last time) write your stand in infinitely big fonts. Highlight it, do what it takes to make sure you stick to it.
Come up with as many content paragraphs as possible (at least 4)

With the PEEEL structure(point form). IF you are uncomfortable in the PEEEL structure, I’m fine if you leave the sub-points in point form without labelling rigidly what is E wad is E what is L. The points must be smooth flowing, of course, and not all over the place.
Remember the idea of balance as introduced to you guys. IF you cannot cope with what is a counter/the other side of view, don’t write a content paragraph(s) on it.(we start slowly if you cannot cope with that) Just remember EVERYTHING and ANYTHING in your essay must be congruent with your STAND. That is the most important.

We will work on the actual essay next week which, as everything goes, will be graded and tabulated with your other marked assignments.
Good luck, have fun doing it.
